(Tues 19th May 2009) Trigg Point, Western Australia will host some of Australia's best surfing talent for the Chill Pro Junior presented by the City of Stirling.

Headlining the event is the current Association of Surfing Professionals World Qualifying Series number one ranked surfer, Owen Wright, who has had a stellar year so far with three consecutive ASP Pro Junior victories, solid results in a number of six star WQS events and a wildcard into the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach, where he defeated rising star Dane Reynolds and nine times world champion, Kelly Slater.

Joining Owen are his younger sisters Kirby and Tyler Wright who will compete in the girls grade one event.

Tyler made headlines last year when she defeated World Champion Stephanie Gilmore as a wildcard and became the youngest ever surfer to win an ASP World Tour event.  Tyler is also this year's International Surfing Association's (ISA) Under 18 World Junior Champion.

Making their way over from the east coast to push the level of surfing are the current Under 18 Australian Champion and Under 18 ISA World Junior Champion Dean Bowen (Gerroa, NSW), powerful surfer from North Narrabeen Davey Cathels and Byron Bay's Garrett Parkes.

Local standouts for the men's event include Shaun Howe (Kalbarri), Dave Delroy-Carr (Margaret River), Mitch Taylor (Karrinyup), Jerome Forrest (Wannanup) and Matt Baldock (Margaret River).

Representing the locals in the girls event are Laura and Bronte McCaulay (Cowaramup) the daughters of former World number three, Dave McCaulay, along with Mikaela Greene (Yallingup) and Felicity Palmateer (Hillarys).

The Chill Pro Junior is presented by the City of Stirling and is proudly supported by Surfing Western Australia, 92.9, Australian Surfing Life, Reef, Filtrate Eyewear, Department of Sport and Recreation and ASP Australasia.
